12-year-old Bailey lives with her father Bug in a squat in northern Kent. Bug has little time for her, as he is getting married soon and has a great idea for making quick money. To escape the chaos at home, Bailey is out and about alone a lot - preferably outside in nature. Then she suddenly meets the eccentric and quirky Bird, who is looking for his birthplace nearby. Curious but cautious, Bailey decides to help him.
