Lost In Translation

Bob Harris, a declining actor, travels to Tokyo to shoot a commercial. He knows he's making a mistake - he should be at home with his family, playing theater or looking for a movie role - but he needs the money. From the top of his luxury hotel, he contemplates the city, but sees nothing. He's elsewhere, detached from everything, unable to integrate into the reality around him, and unable to sleep because of jet lag. In the same establishment, Charlotte, a young American woman and recent graduate, accompanies her husband, a fashion photographer. He seems more interested in his work than in his wife. Feeling neglected, Charlotte seeks a little attention. She finds it in Bob...
