In a country on the African continent that has been handed over to the forces of predation, a coltan miner (the famous "blood ore" from which our mobile phone batteries are made) and a pirate who doesn't fit into the classic "woman/man" box are drawn to each other. Hoping to overthrow the authoritarian regime that controls the region, they lead a revolution uniting fellow hackers. There's Afrofuturist and queer power, songs illuminated by phosphorescent colours set to gripping music. Neptune Frost is good news for an experimental cinema that is proud to exist and to renew its horizons.
