This engaging stop-motion, claymation adventure tells the story of an American rooster who falls in love with a gorgeous hen on a British farm. The couple decides to run away from the farm, but they must first contend with the evil farmer who is intent on keeping them under her control. The chickens decide to attempt an escape so they don't get turned into chicken pot pies.

She immediately decides to travel to the Middle East to unearth the family's past, about which she knows almost nothing. As for Simon, he has no use for the posthumous whims of a mother who has always been distant. But his love for his twin sister will soon drive him to join Jeanne and travel with her through the land of their ancestors in search of a mother far removed from the one they knew.

Willie, a casual New Yorker of Hungarian descent, receives an unexpected visit from his cousin Eva from Budapest. At first Willie wants nothing to do with her, but the two soon develop a special bond. Together with Willie's friend Eddie, they take a spontaneous road trip that takes them from New York to Cleveland and finally to Florida. Along the way, they experience absurd, melancholy and humorous moments that reflect their alienation and search for connection and meaning.
