Amores Perros is a film about social climbers, about socially successful people bringing about their own demise and about a drifter who has lived long enough to regret a past mistake. Their dogs are the connecting link between the characters. They are the silent witnesses to the behavior of their owners, none of whom seem made for happiness and, in terms of love and social contacts, excel mainly in adultery and deceit.
