Punta de Rieles, Uruguay. A prison and its barbed wire. Guards and their watchtowers. Prisoners serving their sentences. But a prison of standing men. Or at least recognised as human. Under the impetus of a visionary director - who fought hard to bring this slightly mad project to life - it is they who have done everything and who keep everything running: the grocery shop, the vegetable gardens, the brickworks, the sawmill, the hairdressing salon and the tattoo parlour. Plus the air and the sun. Not paradise, no. But a dignified place.
