Berlin, 1942. Hilde joins the resistance group “Die Rote Kapelle". There she meets Hans and, despite the constant danger to her life, is intensely happy for a summer. When the Gestapo arrests members of the group in the fall, the now pregnant Hilde is one of them. In prison, she turns out to be a stronger woman than she herself could ever have imagined and manages to keep the memory of her beloved alive.
