The Grill is a busy Times Square eatery serving thousands of guests on an ordinary Friday. Among the kitchen staff, dreams and despair alternate as each tries to pursue the elusive American dream. When money disappears from the cash register one day, suspicion falls on Pedro, a young Mexican cook. Pedro is embroiled in a stormy relationship with Julia, an American waitress struggling with her own obligations. When he learns Julia is considering an abortion, Pedro's world collapses. The shocking revelations and constant work stress bring him to a boiling point that completely upsets the tight choreography in the kitchen.
