Noodle shop owner Tampopo is in a miserable state ever since the death of her beloved husband. Her ramen shop is failing due to her lack of knowledge on how to cook decent ramen. Then, she meets truck drivers Goro and Gun, who become enarmored with her and dedicate themselves to helping her rise above her circumstances. Together, they embark on an epic journey to find the perfect ramen. On this journey, food is shamelessly and sensually connected to sex, love, death, and even cinema – the joy of striving for perfection and paying attention to detail in everything one does.
