From January 27 to March 7, De Cinema invites you to rediscover the greatest films of this American outsider, who refuses to let the codes, fashions, or standards imposed by the Hollywood industry get in the way of his unparalleled rich and versatile work. The little-known Hard Eight, the incredible family saga Magnolia, the cult classic There Will Be Blood, and the incandescent 70s rom-com Licorice Pizza are all on the program for this comprehensive retrospective!

And that’s not all: PTA is inexhaustible when it comes to his cinematic masters, so it was unthinkable not to screen the films of the filmmakers who have guided him throughout his career. Jean-Pierre Melville, Akira Kurosawa, John Huston, and Robert Altman round out this generous and carefully curated program—enough to keep you cozy in the dark theaters all winter long.

Zin in meer? Van 27 januari tot 7 maart nodigt De Cinema je uit om de beste films van deze Amerikaanse buitenbeentje te herontdekken. PTA weigert zich te laten leiden door de codes, trends en normen die de Hollywoodindustrie oplegt. Het relatief onbekende Hard Eight, de ongelooflijke familiesaga Magnolia, de cultklassieker There Will Be Blood en de eigenzinnige romantische komedie Licorice Pizza uit de jaren 70, ze staan allemaal op het programma van deze retrospectieve!

En dat is nog niet alles: PTAs invloeden zijn onovertroffen. Het zou dan ook ondenkbaar zijn om de films van de filmmakers die hem gedurende zijn carrière hebben geïnspireerd niet te vertonen. Taken over by the Grignoux in 1982, the cinema le Parc is located on the edge of Liège, near Bressoux. It has a magnificent auditorium with over 400 seats. In 2021, the doors of the new Mechelen city cinema swung open. In the beautifully renovated Oude Stadsfeestzaal, film lovers can enjoy cinema in a historic setting.
